Tashara Parker, a four-time Emmy Award-winning journalist and news personality at WFAA in Dallas, Texas, is known for turning adversity into a force for change. After facing scrutiny for wearing her natural hair on air, she created the award-winning series “Rooted” and advocated for the Crown Act, a law prohibiting race-based hair discrimination.

Parker’s dedication to impactful storytelling has earned her numerous accolades, including Dallas’ Best News Anchor by D Magazine and the National Crown Coalition Award for Power. She also founded Loud Women Lead, an organization empowering women and girls to act with confidence and authenticity. Honored as one of Black Enterprise magazine’s National 40 Under 40, Parker continues to challenge societal norms and inspire the next generation.
