Dr. Ruth Jones Nichols has more than 25 years of strategic engagement expertise, holding significant roles in organizational leadership, administration, and fundraising. Most recently, she served as chief movement officer at Feeding America and CEO of the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. In April 2022, she was appointed to a leadership role in the Biden-Harris administration, serving as senior adviser for strategic engagement to Secretary Marcia L. Fudge at HUD, after being deputy assistant secretary for public engagement.

Nichols has led initiatives at YWCA South Hampton Roads and raised more than $150 million for the District of Columbia Public Schools. She is a sought-after speaker and has contributed to stories on CNN, Politico, MSNBC, NPR, and local media outlets.
