As president and CEO of the National Bankers Association, Nicole Elam is the youngest CEO in the organization’s history. Before joining the group in 2021, she was vice president at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where she crafted policy positions and advocacy strategies. Notably, she led efforts tied to the firm’s $30 billion commitment to promote racial equity and stimulate inclusive economic growth.

With a 20-year career in public policy and public affairs, Elam has demonstrated leadership in various roles, including spearheading government and external affairs at ITT Educational Services Inc. She also worked as a senior director at the government affairs firm Ice Miller Strategies LLC, and holds a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Howard University School of Law.
