Kelontae Gavin is a 21-year-old gospel artist known as the “Cafeteria Singer.” He launched to fame when someone recorded him singing the gospel song “I Won’t Complain” in his high school cafeteria and posted it to YouTube. The video went viral and drew the attention of celebrities such as Steve Harvey and Yolanda Adams, as well as record labels and managers.

Gavin’s first album, “The Higher Experience,” was released in 2018 and debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums Chart. The track “No Ordinary Worship” spent nearly a year on the Gospel Airplay Chart. In 2019, he was nominated for four Stellar Awards and a Dove Award. His latest single, “Hold Me Close,” from his live album, “The N.O.W. Experience,” speaks to brokenness, vulnerability, and resilience.
