Jim Sills is the president and CEO of Mechanics and Farmers Bank, the second-oldest African American-owned bank in the U.S., with 116 years of service and $450 million in assets. During his 30-plus-year career, Sills has served in executive roles within large-scale banking operations, community banks, and government organizations.

Sills serves on several industry and nonprofit boards, including the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond’s Audit and Risk Committee, the Independent Community Bankers of America, and the North Carolina Bankers Association. He’s also an executive committee member of the NC Chamber of Commerce and chair of the DEI Advisory Board.
