Charles W. Scharf is the chief executive officer, president, and member of the board of directors of Wells Fargo & Co. A financial services veteran with more than 25 years of experience in leadership roles in the banking and payments industries, Scharf served as chief executive officer of Bank of New York Mellon and as chief executive officer and a director of Visa Inc. Scharf championed both companies’ entry into the digital age by transforming them into technologically driven commerce companies.
Scharf also is a director of Microsoft Corp., is a member of The Business Council, is a member of the board of directors for the New York City Ballet, and serves on the board of trustees of his alma mater, Johns Hopkins University.
